Roofers Serving Sterling and Nearby Communities

Sterling VA Roofers covers Sterling and the communities around it that Roofing Roughnecks serves from its base in Herndon.

Sterling

Sterling is an unincorporated area of eastern Loudoun County, north of Dulles Airport and along the Route 7 and Route 28 corridors. The name covers more than the Sterling census-designated place: Sterling and Potomac Falls mailing addresses also include Cascades, Countryside, Lowes Island and Sugarland Run, each built in a different decade. It is where Roofing Roughnecks completed the full roof replacements shown on our projects page.

Communities within the Sterling area

  • Sterling Park: one of Loudoun's first planned communities, with its first houses sold in 1963.
  • Sugarland Run: a planned community incorporated in 1971, with homes built in the 1970s and 1980s.
  • Countryside: homes built from 1981 to 1991, mostly colonials, part of Potomac Falls.
  • Cascades: a planned community whose association was incorporated in 1990, with roughly 6,500 homes, also part of Potomac Falls.

Nearby communities we serve

  • Ashburn (Loudoun County): to the west, where we have also completed a full roof replacement.
  • Herndon (Fairfax County): to the south, where Kenney Construction is based.
  • Reston (Fairfax County): to the southeast.
  • Chantilly (mostly Fairfax County, with some addresses in Loudoun): south of Dulles Airport.

Why the county line matters

Sterling and Ashburn are in Loudoun County, so roofing permit questions go to the Loudoun County Department of Building and Development. Herndon and Reston are in Fairfax County, as is most of Chantilly, where permits run through Fairfax County or, inside the Town of Herndon, the Town. A roofer who works on both sides of the line should write the scope for the jurisdiction your house is actually in.

On the Roofing Roughnecks site

This site is part of Roofing Roughnecks. The division's own Sterling pages show the same Sterling projects, and its service-area page lists every community it covers: Herndon, Reston, Great Falls, McLean, Vienna, Ashburn, Sterling, Aldie, Oakton, Chantilly, Centreville and South Riding.
